Catholic family during COVID
Post Body

I'm curious what you all are experiencing with your still Catholic parents during the pandemic. My parents are being nuts. My mom keeps saying that if it's god's will for her to get sick, she'll offer her suffering to jesus and that she's lived a good life and is ready to die.

My dad, who is an intellectual trad catholic, is straight up acting like he has a protective shield around him. He's playing in his band in bars, working, travelling, and overall being a total idiot.

I can't help but think that it has a tie to their religious convictions. They trust Gods will. I just can't believe how selfish and dispassionate they are being. They don't seem to care at all that they could both live another 30 years and would be leaving behind two kids in their 30s who have not even started our own families yet.

While I hope that you all aren't experiencing this, I thought this would be a likely place to find others with a similar experience.
