Hokay, at the 2.5 primordial thing again.

Ok, a few of you fine folks have read the series so far, so some of you know how much I was digging on becoming a transubstantiation of a Solar freed from the curse and more over raised to the level of personification of a few previews.

Let's just say that I did it. What are my principles? Idealism/philanthropy/altruism. How did I do it? Well, I really liked this idea a lot: This is a long one so I'll throw it in spoilers, but you might want to have it in your back pocket in case one of your players, or you with an NPC, want to have a nondeusexmachina ascendance.

Gonna jest... yea.. go ahead and apologize for all the black text here, I'm going on the basis that my player circle I'm helping run for is as computarded as myself.

Transcending the divine limits of her Exaltation, the Solar plunges her hands into the Shinma, looks upon that which no spirit dares face, and forces it to acknowledge her as a peer. Extending threads of her essence to subsume the principles that define reality, the sorcerer rends the shackling limits of Virtue and Willpower from her soul and heralds a new legend upon Samsara.

This spell can only be cast in Pure Chaos during Calibration. The sorcerer must expend a kilomote and 10 willpower in a ritual over the 5 days of Calibration that extends the threads of her essence across the Shinma. This is a extended dramatic action, during which the sorcerer must internalize her intimacies, virtues and the totalities of the experiences of her past lives, condensing them into a singular defining principle, and then cast it outwards to imprint it upon the Shinma. Other than standard essence respiration (4m/h), the sorcerer may only gain essence from her cult (at a rate of 1 mote per 2 that would normally be obtained, so 3m/h from Cult *****) and stunts that impart the themes of the character in a dramatic way. The sorcerer may stunt once per hour, with one, two and three die stunts awarding 3, 6 and 9 motes. During this time, the sorcerer is not immune to the normal hazards of pure chaos. Furthermore, initiation of this spell sends a surge of power across Creation, Yu-Shan, Malfeas and the Underworld, in which its progress, location and nature are made Obvious to all beings over Essence 3 despite being in Pure Chaos.

At the end of the ritual, the sorcerer burns free of her Exaltation, for it was merely a catalyst to her ascension. Her hun and po soul fuses, and the essence she spent snaps back into her. This collapses her personal and peripheral pools into a single, kilomote pool. She loses all her original charms, although their effects may be incorporated into her new Primordial charmset. She may spawn third circle devas as per the charm Pantheon Unfurling (Return of the Scarlet Empress), expending 100 motes per dot of permanent essence (capped at 9). Unlike the original Primordials, the Exalted cannot form a fetich deva; being possessed of a soul of her own, the sorcerer is above such weaknesses. Third circle devas begin with an unbreakable intimacy of loyalty to the sorcerer and act as an arcane link. The sorcerer also forms an intimacy towards the deva's motivations.

Although she still possesses her old body (which is now effectively her primary Jouten), the sorcerer is now immortal to old age and possesses a permanent perfect defense towards shaping and unnatural mental influence. Any demise that cannot permanently kill spirits causes her to take over and replace the body of her oldest third circle deva. Effects that can permanently kill spirits, such as Ghost Eating Technique, may cause the new Primordial to reform as a Neverborn if she has a Cosmic Principle charm. If lacking third circle deva, the new Primordial reforms a new primary Jouten in Pure Chaos by the next Calibration. The Jouten's abilities and attributes may either reflect her old ones or more likely be defined by her new charmset.

Out of game, the player should talk about the experiences her character has gone through and what defines her. She should work with the Storyteller (and her circle) to condense her character down to central themes and keywords, and design analogs to Primordial excellencies and charms, using Battlestar Autochthonia's write up of Empyrean Chaos and Return of the Scarlet Empress' write up of the Ebon Dragon as guidelines. Normal essence respiration and a full mote pool should account for ~600 out of the 1000 motes needed, so the player must use a combination of dramatic stunts recounting the backstory (including past lives, both her hun soul and Exaltation), motivation of her character and eventful gameplay sessions, and a high cult rating to make up for the rest. There is no obligation for the storyteller to allow the player to succeed. During the ritual, the sorcerer will likely be attacked by not only the dangers of the Wyld, but also Heaven, the Deathlords and whatever the Yozi can muster up. The storyteller should encourage the circle to use social combat (convince gods, Sidereals or Abyssals that creation will be better off with a new Primordial).**

But that didn't seem My Twilights kinda thing, even though he really does like blowing motes... I thought maybe.. just maybe, I could work it into the story with already introduced custom spells/martial arts forms/down to the enchantments I put on my weapons when i first created them about 79 sessions ago.

So I took my fire a, which was just regular fire at the time with the guns antigrapple fire shroud effect, very much like the Dragon Blooded just with a smidge more damage per round. So I was a craftsman, merchant and gunslinger, and pretty good at all three. I decided from a character point of view, "Smith brain: heat makes metal strong! Why not the same with me?" And then merchant brain kicks in with "you know you have the dust, why don't you use a good deal of essence to make it blue flames for a scene?" And the gunslinger brain was just.. "... huh? Yeah, uh what they said but we're going to need a lot more essence..."

So thinking about using essence to stoke "the flame in my soul" and around that time the rest of the circle was making some pretty strong material arts styles, so i figured I'd give it a shot. Attempted to make an ambidextrous, beefed up celestial brother to Golden Exhalation Style without just copypastaing and adding bigger dice pools. And so aftef about 2 weeks back and forth with my ST, The Azure Flame Style was born with The Azure Champion coming directly from the azure flame style form charm. IMHO: The form charm was worth the half xp i put into it once the circle said it was a little on the terrestrial side. But more about that later, here is the martial art...

Azure Flame Style

Azure Quickdraw Cost: 2 mot Duration: Instantl Type: Reflexive Minimum Martial Arts: 2 Minimum Essence: 2 Prereqs: Non

The Azure Stylist is quick to react to battle, and their weapons quickly follow suit. This charm allows the Stylist to reflexively ready their weapons in the beginning of battle, or switch between them during.

The Azure Stylist follows their target carefully, channeling their essence down the barrel of their weapon. Invoking this charm, after three ticks of the Aim action increases the maximum bonus from aiming by five. The Stylist may then take another Aim action and gain a greater bonus to the shot. Other than increasing the maximum bonus, this Charm does not change the way the Aim action works.

Where There's Smoke, There's Fire Cost: 2 motes Duration: One Scene Type: Supplemental Minimum Martial Arts: 3 Minimum Essence: 3 Prereqs: Azure Quickdraw

The Azure Stylist's weapons work in tandem; where one goes, the other is soon to follow suit. This charm allows the Stylist to dual wield their weapons without an offhand penalty. Additionally, the two used in tandem count as a single action for the purpose of multiple action penalties.

Dust Fire Cost: 5 motes Duration: Instant Type: Reflexive Minimum Martial Arts: 4 Minimum Essence: 4 Prereqs: Bead & Burn / Where There's Smoke, There's Fire

With their blade in one hand and firearm in the other, the Stylist channels their essence and fire into a growing fireball that sits at the mouth of their barrel. Pulling their flame weapon back, they quickly swing the flat of their sword and launch a fiery explosion at their enemy. With this charm, the Stylist rolls their attack and increase the range of their fire attack by one yard per accuracy success, and one extra die of damage for every tick spent aiming.

Azure Flame Form Cost: 7 motes 1 Willpower Duration: One Scene Type: Simple Minimum Martial Arts: 5 Minimum Essence: 5 Keyword: Obvious, Combo-Basic, Form Type Prereqs: Dust Fire

The Azure Stylist has learned that the hotter the flame, the stronger the mettle, and like flames licking through the wind, so do their movements. With the activation of this Form, the Stylist increased their Dodge and Parry DVs by their MA. Their Stamina is temporarily increased by MA/2. In addition, half of the total of each of their soaks are applied to allies within (Essence X 10) yards.

Baptism By Fire Cost: 6 motes Duration: Instant Type: Simple Minimum Martial Arts: 5 Minimum Essence: 5 Keyword: Obvious, Combo-OK Prereqs: Azure Flame Form

With their blade in one hand and firearm in the other, the Azure Stylist channels their essence and fire into a growing fireball that sits at the mouth of their barrel. Pulling their flame weapon back, they quickly swing the flat of their sword and launch a fiery explosion at their enemy. With this charm, the Stylist makes their attack. If it hits, it heals (Essence - 1) health levels to non-Creatures of Darkness hit by the attack, and does (Essence 1) aggravated damage to Creatures of Darkness hit by the attack.

Hot Knife Through Butter Cost: 7 motes Duration: Instant Type: Extra Action Minimum Martial Arts: 5 Minimum Essence: 5 Keyword: Combo-OK, Obvious Prereqs: Azure Flame Form

As the Azure Stylist attacks, his weapons begin to heat up as a result. And that heat can prove deadly to anything that tries to stand in its way. With this charm activated, the Stylist's form weapons' speed reduces by one (minimum 3). If these form weapons kill an enemy, the Stylist may make an additional action. The maximum kill streak may be (Essence).

As you'll see if you check out the MA spoiler, I couldn't balance the 2 weapons at any given time with what is intended to be a hot swap type system. But dang if i didn't get a much circle appreciation for among whats already been listed high stamina resistance and 5spot craft fire, so i just kept having awesome exotic materials on my person at all times, the we smote a celestial lion, used most every bit of it plus some war god blood, so i made about as high as i thought i could go with defending myself as well as those around me. That's when i started referring to the Azure Flame Form as the Azure Champion, and less than a week later I started the process of creating a solar circle spell called The Azure Champion Endowment, the base was solar circle and i sis create 2 scaled down versions. But without further BSing,here's what I came up with for that with a good deal of input from my circle mates and ST.

Azure champions endowment cost: 15m per endowment(15m to make all stacked endowments have an AOE (effect), 3 wp Target: creature within earshot duratuion: Scene Long

"Azure Wave: as essence ripples off of the champion, he is filled with serenity and shairs that serene nature with all allies. this deep peace is accompanied by a clear mind making unwanted mental influences impossible. (AOE if paid for) upon spreading his gift the champion shares serenity with his allies within (essence X 10) yards.giving allies within the given radius the Champions (essence) bonus in defence against unwanted mental influences. All Allies rally as Family in arms when this endowment is active, causing a -3 external penalty to routing attempts."

"The Azure Flame: As his essence burns a pyre the champion fortifies himself for the champion has learned that the hotter the flame, the stronger the metel, and like flames licking through the wind, so do their movements. With the activation of this endowment,the Champions weapons become (essence/2) harder in both lethal and bashing, this includes parts of the very body should they be the weapon of choice, due to their hardness they deal (essence X 2) extra lethal damage on top of current damage. (AOE if paid for) When this gift is shared with allies within (essence x 10) yards the allies gain the same benefits as the champion save weapons deal (Champions essence) lethal damage instead of (essence x 2) lethal damage"

"Azure Stone: The champions body becomes strong like the mountains, upon receiving this endowment the Champion increased their Parry DVs and lethal and bashing soak by their MA. Their Stamina is temporarily increased by MA/2. (AOE if paid for) In addition, half of the total of each of the champions soaks are applied to allies within (Essence X 10) yards."

"Azure Root: when this endowment is bestowed, the Champion's very skin becomes toxic to any enemy he makes contact with be it by waepon ordirect contact, dealing 1 die of poison damage per action, incurred every timethe enemy makes contact with the champion, Poison has the following statistics. Damage:(Essencex2)L, Toxicity:(Essence), Penalty:-(Essence), Interval: 1, as an added bonus to the champion becomes immune to the toxin he has become. (AOE if paid for) When this gift is shared with allies within and (essenceX10) yard radius, they gain (allies essence) to (stamina resistance) rolls. they also gain the ability to spend 5m to exude the champions toxic flesh themselve, doing 4 damage, having the same toxicity and the same penalties and interval, incurred as the Champion for up to 4 actions."

"Azure Breeze: As the Champion recieves this endowment he becomes unfeeling toward those with ice in their veins, he will show no compassion for the compassionless. This gift causes it to snow in an (essenceX10)yard radius around the Champion and bestows him with the ability to freeze and shatter weapons, armor, and even exposed limbs of the enemy as well as boosting the Champions Speed by (essence/2) and adds (essence) to DDV. (AOE if paid for) When this gift is shared, allies within (essenceX10) yards gain the ability to cut the speed of their actions by 2 to a minimum of 3. their movement speed is also increased by (allies essence/2). provides half the benefits to DVs and movement, and grants environmental damage with Half of the Damage, and Trauma, rounded down." And just this past year or so i thought about "The Azure Champion " in a little more depth. What was the Azure Flame that he was Championing? There were more than 2 free and peaceful primordials about in our game as well as the time traveling razor iguana, i had one last project to do before we went into what honestly nobody (even my 5 compassion ass was looking for the end battle, but i was taking blood samples from the kid who created this particular world in a big bang where the entire past up to the start of the gamee i had been blessed with a touch of primordial power as had most of the rest of the blood donors who was actually one of cytherias souls. There were also a few drops of Sol Invictus' blood in that alchemical mess that was intended to be 3 NPCs and my own doomsday armor. Well, got all the bloods and ash from when a circle mate had beaten Ferrand by the skin of his teeth. Those ashes mixed with a celestial peach and some ashes from the primal forge. No sooner then the ink had finished being laid (this tattoo armor was supposed to bump us into overdrive. But what happened next my ST loved as soon as i threw it up as an option. 4 voices of younger, maybe 16 year old boys voices were in my head and the room was getting hotter and hotter, until my twilights mind kinda popped into place. The heat I was feeling was The Azure Flame itself. Now for a little explanation of what i thought him ro be. Ok, so our world had a little wiggle room for the mythos and it was positive in our setting that Cytheria, the divine Ignition, was the first to pry herself into existence. If i had to guess honestly, if i were a omnipotent cosmic representation of a force and had just been born i would have no damn clue what i was able to do, so the obvious thing to do would be to test your power right? So The Divine Ignition ignites the first flame and she had also inadvertently created life there. While also spending WAY too much essence, which the blue idea of a flame absorbs all it can get of it. But light was not a thing and the mother of all things saw the potential for something great that was trying to become real, and so she helped oramus out of chaos, where he likewise tested his power for light and creativity on the formless blue flame. Again, flat out too much essence had been blown at him, which likewise he absorbed it all. The rest that came out of chaos were somewhat put off by what ever this flame was, and tested their powers elsewhere, keeping a good distance between themselves and the flame until Gaia's arrival. She saw that the bright blue ripple in existance served no purpose so she created the first flame in him, a flame so hot it nudged his mother and all his technically younger siblings to finally take to a great distance from him and eventually even memories forget about him.

So with infinite creativity and ability to set it to become real, he thought very shallow Lizared brain thoughts, he was hungry for power, and he needed a friend. Throughout time he waited until he saw one twilight who was pulling out all the stops to gain more essence to become strong enough to (if need be) 1v1 the crippled cosmic beings that were well on thair way. All it took was that final bit of effort in creating the tattoo armor and both parties knew to reach out with everything in themselves. And then contact was made...

The twilight began to dematerialize and a the last bit of his body burned away and his exaltation tried to leave him he was able to keep hold of it long enough to split it in two. Luckily (or not so, depending on who you ask) he had completely burned his (i know what's about to be typed is completely ridiculous, but i figured if i was going big, den shoot to da moon) 17th through 25th essence dots trying to burn every charm he had as many times as he could break the rules of reality to do so.

And when the flame pulled itself into it's other half, a million thoughts became reality across several existences. And he and his were cast out to a new world to be greeted well and made e of stronger for it And thats where I'm at now.
