Hey Everyone,

I haven't played EQ in roughly 20 years, last playing in highschool with planes of power. I was on test server with a bunch of local friends so never got the "live" experience. (Primal Brood and TSF thank you for the memories). I wasn't even a big raider at the time, to be honest I can't remember much of what I accomplished other then enjoying the hell out of running people from crushbone to the dwarf city to turn in the belts with my bards speed song.

I am coming back, with zero expectations and an itch to experience some of those nostalgia points.

I will be playing on the new TLP server that comes out on Weds, I've already gotten my account ready and played around with the UI and "feel" of the game so its not such a shock to the system but I need help. My UI could use an overhaul, playing the game on a 4k monitor has me squinting so im gonna have to figure that out also.

The game feels a bit overwhelming, and with such a small window for each expansion I want to ensure I am hitting the ground running and getting the full experience. I've played pretty much every mmo since EQ, including a long stint on WOW and more recently WOW classic. I consider myself "sweaty dad", I get it but I'm not gonna be a world first player.

NONE of my friends are interested in doing this, and thats ok to me, it removes a lot of the pressure to match their expectations and the let down if they quit. With that said I am looking for a community or even a mentor to help me get my groove back. I am not 100% sure what to play, I don't know what is in demand and tbh the resources are a bit overwhelming at face value. I don't really know where to start.

If you have pointers or need another "dad" for your team/guild/friend group let me know. I hope I find some cool folks to tag along with in game come Weds. I enjoy playing the "IN DEMAND" class over the FOTM.
