Hey everyone, I live with a flatmate who owns a BYD Atto 3, and he’s been charging it at home using a Jonhon EV mode 2 charging cable via a regular wall plug. Our electricity bill has skyrocketed, and I’m trying to figure out how much of it might be due to the EV charging (in kWh).
Does anyone here have experience with charging EVs like the Atto 3 at home? How much electricity does it typically consume when charging through a standard wall socket? Any insights or calculations would be really helpful!
Additionally, I’d love some advice on how to approach this situation with my flatmate in a way that’s fair and amicable. What’s the best way to explain the likely cost of charging the EV and how much they should reasonably contribute? I want to keep things friendly while making sure we’re splitting the costs fairly.
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and suggestions! Thanks in advance.
