A question about EoE

Hey. Today I completed the Evangelion Series and EoE. As everyone would expect, I'm more depressed than before starting the (really awesome and by far my favorite) series and I am full of questions. One question for example is the following: Why did Asuka survive the human instrumentality? Did she actively resisted the process of Instrumentality? And did she not die because of the (terrifying) mass production Evas?
