When I was a kid watching Eurovision I would get super upset if my favorite didn't win but as I got older I realized that even qualifying to the National Finals is hard, making it to the Grand Final itself is a big accomplishment, making it as high as top 10 is very impressive. So if my faves are anywhere in the top 10 I feel happy now and don't put as much importance in winning
Last year, I wanted Kaarija to win and this year, I wanted Baby Lasagna to win. I would have been very happy if they won of course but I still feel like people are getting too fixated on the fact that they did not win when 2nd place itself is a fantastic result and should be celebrated. Does it ultimately matter that they didn't win? No, people adore them
This year Bambie Thug and Ladaniva were amongst my favorites and I'm happy with their results of being in the top 10.
I think we as the Eurovision viewers think winning is more important than it is when there is usually not that much difference between being the 1st or 2nd artist in the final results. The 1st just also has the added responsibility of their country hosting ESC next year while the 2nd gets to be successful but also free (no next year burden)
Not to mention, there are also many artists who ranked lower than top 10 that I am also happy to discover like Joker Out, Luke Black, 5miinust, Sudden Lights, I love them for their music and their rank ultimately doesn't matter to me
I feel like if I was an artist on Eurovision I'd be happy with any result in the top 10
