In our recent feedback thread, in addition to comments made elsewhere, we've noted dissatisfaction with the local news rule; believing it to be too restrictive for things like culture, society etc.
Changes and Clarification: 'Local News' rule will henceforth be referred to as the 'Local Crime' rule.
Specific Wording:
"Local crime news with no international or political significance will be removed. Criminal offenses are common and by themselves are not relevant at a pan-European scale. However, we reserve the right to approve funny, interesting and/or unique crime stories. Meta-studies, or longitudinal studies, of crime and the nature of crime are perfectly acceptable."
As a prelude to the above rule change you'll have probably noticed our 'soft change' in rule enforcement on this matter used to test the above rule in practice. In short, crime stories are like they were before but local elections, politics, culture etc. are now all acceptable, so post away :)
