Greetings, stay a while and listen!
Don't let the melodramatic and cheesy intro worry you. I'll try to keep things short, which is challenging as I'm a rambler. Hopefully you are equally talkative, and we can keep conversation topics for when we start chatting.
Who am I? Mostly a patient and caring person, with lots of empathy, somewhat idealistic, while also having a cynical sense of humour. I enjoy dark jokes, sarcasm and nihilistic memes, but at the same time I'd say I'm an optimist in an existentialist way; I think as humans we can find our own meaning and most of us have good intentions.
I like people who are open and honest, who want to spend time together, getting to know each other and sharing lots of affection. I really value communication and being upfront when something isn't to your liking; and in this era of callousness and ghosting, I genuinely appreciate if someone tells me they're not interested anymore rather than being left wondering.
Passion-wise, I collect hobbies and I would love to learn about yours. I'm into boardgames, DnD, PC gaming (mostly cooperative games and chill RPG/simulator/strategy stuff nowadays, not into competitive multiplayer anymore), outdoors activities (mostly long walks, trying to get back into jogging), cooking, coffee and tea, whiskey and cocktails, metal and synthwave, and many more things.
I'm looking for a monogamous relationship with someone who's single, and lives in Belgium or close nearby (neighbouring country, preferrably close to the border); I'm not in a huge rush but I want it to be possible to hang out regularly if things work out, and to meet rather soon if the vibe is good. Relocating isn't really possible for me in the near future (perhaps in a few years), I have my own place and a job that I don't hate, which is nice. I can travel by train quite easily in Benelux but anything outside of that would be tricky, and I don't think I can do a LDR again... (I've had enough sad goodbyes at the airport)
Finally, I think it would be nice to exchange pictures and jump into a voice call sooner rather than later, maybe play a game together. It'd be great to find a spark and a connection where the conversation flows naturally and we can chat daily about our lives. What does your ideal day spent with a partner look like? Mine would be coffee/brunch, going on a walk, either in nature or exploring a new city, then coming home and cooking together, and either playing a boardgame, a video game or watch the extended version of Lord of the Rings while cuddling under a blanket.
A few things I'd point out:
I'm childfree (so if you want to find a partner to have kids, let's not waste each other's time);
I'm non-smoking and can't really stand the smell;
I'm no athlete, and I don't expect you to be one either, but I'm a physically active person who likes to walk 20km in a day and ideally so would you;
I'm left-wing, don't like bigots, close-minded people and greed. I used to consider myself moderate but looking at the world now, even though my whole ethos is just "be chill, mind your own business, respect others, everyone deserves freedom and dignity, etc" some might consider those extreme-left commie beliefs nowadays. Which is fine by me, maybe our oppressive system does need a revolution.
I'm vegetarian (for ethical and ecological reasons), won't judge if you aren't but won't eat, pay for or cook meat.
I can speak Dutch but I'm not fluent, I'm from the south of Belgium; I don't mind at all if you're from the North and I'd like to improve my Dutch.
Well, there was definitely an attempt at keeping things short and concise. If I haven't lost you yet, go ahead and send me a message or a chat! Also, no need to respond in an equally long message, but hopefully you've at least read my post; what's your favourite fruit?
