title: While you're waiting for the Hiatus to finish up, check out /r/civaigames!

Before we start, CivAIGames has a discord! Please feel free to join if you have any questions or comments about the subreddit at all. We only bite some of the time!

Hello all!

My name's eura, here to advertise /r/civaigames to you all!

So, what is civaigames, you might ask? Well, it was a subreddit created almost two years ago, where people run, narrate, and post AI games, just like the CBR, for your own enjoyment! While the subreddit is listed on the sidebar, we are afraid that it isn't very prominent, and a lot of you may not know what it is.

There are a ton of cool games being run as we speak, and there is often at least one part of a game posted each day. If you want some examples of games being run, here you go!

AIfrica, run by /u/danmacsch

Pretty much exactly what it sounds like, this is a giant, 42 civ African game. Civs like Libya, Sennar, the Mossi, the Zulu, and Zimbabwe are represented.

Groundhog Day mk 4, run by /u/Admiral_Cloudberg

Based on the movie with the same name, 21 civs fight it out on a small-ish map 10 different times. Five of the civs are chosen by him, and the other 16 are picked by the community. There is a wide variety of civs in this game, from Ireland to the Timurids to Taiwan to the Cree. Each part is an entire game run and narrated by Cloudberg. Whoever wins the most rounds wins the game.

Random Game mk. 2, run by /u/Lefondesin

After the first mark of this game was ended with a crash, the Random Game is back! This is a giant, 61 civ game, played with everything else on random. If you think you won't be able to find a civ to root for in this game, you'd be wrong- I couldn't pick just one that I want to win, so I'm backing the Maori, the Wabanaki, Rwanda, and Algeria.

Is-a-rael AI Game, run by /u/UltraWorlds

This game is centered around Cyprus, the Levant, and the Nile Delta. This game has everything- huge clusterf*cks, open space which civs are rushing to expand into, and large powers trying to cement themselves as the best of the best. Here, you can root for Nabataea, the Amalek, and Palmyra, among others.

Sea of Japan AI Game, run by /u/TopHatPaladin

Centered around, well, the Sea of Japan, this is a deathmatch between the Ainu, Japan(s), Silla, the Manchu, and the Song, just to name a few. Colonies are all the rage here, and I'd expect some cool naval battles to take place soon.

Now, if I were to name every single AI game that's running right now, it would take me forever... So I'll let /u/Admiral_Cloudberg's list of running and completed games take it away. There's the AI Game of Polands, an AI game based in Poland and with all Polish civs; the RandomVidGameCharacter Rumble, a game between Video Game civs; AIberia, a match between Iberian civs, and so many more than I can name.

Seriously, there's a game for everyone here. Even if you don't see a running game that you're looking for, there's almost two year's worth of completed games. Some more examples:

AI Britain, by /u/LacsiraxAriscal

An AI game taking place on, well, the British Isles!

There are 27 total parts, so I won't be able to list them all here. If you're interested, I'll grab them all for you!

Clusterfuckia Mk. 2, by /u/TA_Knight

61 civs. One small map. The ultimate clusterfuck.

US States AI Only, by /u/Samarkhannor

That's just a small number of the games that have been completed. If you'd like, name a region or a type of warfare/civ/anything you're interested in, and I'll try to find something for you!

On the off-chance you can't find the game you're looking for- why not run it yourself! As long as you know what your computer can handle (for example, don't try a 61-civ deatmatch if you're using a 10-year-old laptop), it's super easy! Here's a handy guide by the great /u/KirbyATK48 on how to run a game of your own!
