Maybe it´s time to learn from the good things of EU4 that we all came to love and put it in a new game with more modern features.
I myself am no programmer, but I can imagine that having to create new DLCs that don´t break the game when combined with older versions and DLCs of the game will only become a more difficult task. Correct me if I´m wrong.
This is no diss towards the developers, clearly they put in a lot of effort into every DLC and I love what they've come up with in most of them, but clearly something is not working right in the process that allowed such flaws to slip into the final version, which has been an increasing theme with each release.
As much as we love EU4, the current state of the game compounded with the consistent issues the dev team comes up with whenever a new DLC is released without somehow realizing how it might brake the gameplay is proof to me that it´s time to move on. I think that that PDX should prioritize on developing the next generation based on the success of EU4 even if it takes a couple of years to fully develop, instead of trying to cash out on faulty DLCs. In my case I will not spend a cent on the DLC until it´s balanced and fixed; the damage from negative publicity is done. I cannot imagine the devs being all that happy with the reaction from the community when everyone is clearly very upset.
It´s time for EU5.
