I’m playing as France for my first game.Early on I have a successful war against England and I manage to take All of Normandy(Suprise).I build the temples in most of my regions and I had a income of 15 ducats.So I’m looking good right,strong army,strong economy and well ahead in technologies as well.So I look to expand and take full control of France by conquering Brittany.They have heaps of alliances but I have enough armies to combat the threat.So I declare war and as expected it’s going good until I see that my income is down to -6 ducats!!!!.I am only making 5 ducats from trading so even if they block all the ports I should still make income yet I’m far ahead in the negatives.

So I make peace and I declare war again at a later time for only the same thing to happen over and over again.I can’t expand without making war and I can’t make war without the money to make new units.Am I missing a trick here because I really like the game and enjoy but this is beyond frustrating.

Please help!!!
