Recently bought Rule Britannia because it was on sale, and so decided to give Great Britain (another) run.

I'm having heaps of fun doing all the missions, and currently own a lot of the Mediterranean islands, and am about to go to war with the Mamluks for the Delta and Cyprus. The "flavour" I guess is that Britain wants control of Mediterranean trade, but in terms of game-play I'm not exactly sure how I'm supposed to exploit it for my benefit.

Obviously the English Channel, particularly with the colonisation of the New World, is my big money maker, but what's the best way to get Mediterranean wealth to flow to me there? As far as I can tell, they are all end nodes unless it flows through Germany up to Lubeck via Ragusa, but I have no control over those land routes and it seems pointless.

Do I just pick an end node to collect, and take the trade malus for it not being my trade port?
