Do I still get achievements if I backdate my game?

So the new update dlc is coming up in like 2ish weeks but im in the middle of a campaign and probs won't finish in that time. I dont want to lose my progress bc it will 100% break my save in the update.

Is it possible to prevent the update until done? Or to backdate to before the update and then finish my game a few days later?

(I'm going for several achievements and they're so closeee ;~;)

I'm asking bc ive tried it before but it did not work, however the wiki says it should. I assume I did it wrong lols
