Working remotely from other eu country tax rules?
Post Body

So basically I live in Sweden and I work in the tech industry. My contract lets me work wherever I want and all my job is done online. My question is that I plan on moving to another eu country. The rules in Sweden state that if you live outside of Sweden for more than 6 months, you have to pay tax in the country that you reside in.

I think that makes sense but I have two big questions about this:

  1. It seems like the company I work for would have to register in the eu country I move too and as such they’ll have to pay not only tax for me in another country but they also have to register and pay admin fees etc.

  2. How do they actually know where I’m based. I mean if I stay written at for exemple my parents house in Sweden, don’t show my passport on leaving/entering the other country (which actually is usually the case when I travel in the eu) and I only use Revolut (an online bank that I can transfer money to and from so I would’nt have an actual account in the country I live) and my partner would be on the rental contract.

Thanks for any input, I obviously don’t want to break the rules but i don’t that the company I work for would want to spend a lot of extra money so I can work from another country.
