Is there a connection between “athlete” and “Athenes”?
Post Body
I’ve looked around on google an “athlete” apparently comes from the greek work “athlos” meaning contest or task and “Athens” is named after the greek god Athena but i was wondering if there is any etymological connection as the words are so similar.
