Tickets for an event for my birthday
Post Body

My birthday is coming up and there’s an event I want to go to. I think at least a few friends would like to go to as well.

This is a popular event and I’m worried tickets may sell out. So I bought one ticket for me plus 3 extras. Tickets are $50 each so I spent $200.

Questions: - should I ask the 3 people that take the tickets to pay me back? Or is that tacky/cheap? - is it ok to tell everyone ā€œthe first 3 to claim the extra tickets get them…everyone else must buy their own ticket and the event may sell outā€ā€¦.or, again, is that tacky?

I haven’t really done much for my birthday in recent years and I’m prob going to be spending a fair amount of money on this birthday between the event and probably getting food afterward…and possibly even renting an Airbnb to keep the party going in the evening. So I’d like to at least recoup my costs for the event tickets. I don’t really want to feel like I’m paying people to come to my birthday, y know?

Let me know what you think.
