I've seen the argument a lot on here lately that total BTC ETH market cap hasn't gone up, it's just flowed from one to another, and it'll go back, meanwhile just flashing the market cap graphs of the 2. I've never seen any actual numbers behind this however. The basis is that BTC holders are just switching to ETH to hedge their risk but in total no new market cap is being added. This is just simply false.
Since Jan 1, the total BTC/ETH market cap has gone from 6.6MN to 7.17MN. That's a 566k market cap increase, or 8.5%. Tired of seeing this false argument.
