Since some folks are asking, Bluesky is a network very similar to Twitter, that was actually created by Jack Dorsey (Founder of Twitter) The main difference is that is based on a decentralized protocol (The AT protocol) which means that anybody can host nodes and create new clients, and that users can port their data from a network to another, as long as it’s based on AT.

Jack Dorsey actually imagined porting Twitter to AT, until Elon Musk came in.

The whole point being that users can’t be held captive to a platform (Like what’s happening on Twitter) and that their data are their own.

Why pay for this? You don’t have to! Actually most people get their invites from free giveaways.

I’m pretty sure you’ll find a free one if you wait or actively look for one.
