After realizing the millions of pounds of used clothing we send to African countries weekly, I got really sickened. We're poisoning and polluting and killing people, and it's just....so removed from the view of the western world that it's disregarded. Women used to carrying 5lb buckets on their heads are forced to carry 120lb bales of clothes. They can't turn it away either, or the US and EU will put sanctions on them. It's horrifying...
So now I feel like I don't have a choice. I can't know that now, and ignore it. But as a fat fashionista, finding even new clothes is hard—and thrifting plus size is even harder. But I'm going to try to stick to thrift, and brush up on my sewing skills to tailor pieces that aren't fitting perfectly. I'm a little worried about how that's going to go!
