I'm a formwork estimator and a bit unsure of one detail. Any help would be appreciated!
Post Body

Hey,

I’ve been a formwork estimator for about 1.5 years now (my first estimating job too) and lately we’ve moved on to more complex projects. I’m working on one project now and I’m a bit confused about one detail. This is a project located in the downtown area and the site is very tight.

The detail shows a 12’ tall concrete foundation wall for a basement located less than 1’ from the edge of shoring. The detail in the picture shows a drainage board on the face of the lagging, followed by spray foam insulation, and then the “blind side” waterproofing and lastly the concrete wall.

My question is: When constructing the foundation wall for this detail, will it be acceptable to form only the interior face of the wall? The concrete will be poured against the formwork on one side and the spray insulation/waterproofing on the other. Will there be any issues pouring concrete against spray insulation/waterproofing?

We do have more experienced estimators in the office but they’ve been away for a few days and I don’t really know who to ask till they return.
