I had been a die hard apple fan boy all along, until one day I walked into work and saw my co-worker holding this phone. That day I learnt about Essential, and what a majestic phone they'd built.
I bought it off him the same day, that was 2017. Fast forward 4 years, I'm still using it and every year it has proven to me how far ahead of its time this device was when it came out. Now I've been an Android dev since and don't get me wrong, I would love to have a phone update-able to Android 10 but the fact that there's no phone on the market even TODAY that would beat its aesthetics just make it too hard for me to give up the james bond feel of the phone itself. I've a work phone to test on Android 10 but there is nothing on the market worth updating to for a personal phone.
I replaced my battery and took off the matte screen protector and I feel like I've just got a new phone. I love this thing. Bright radiant clear edge-to edge af display, the heavy feel, flat in-device camera placement and natural finger print sensor location are just some of the things so hard to find all of the above in another device.
Essential, I love ya.
