Grinder advice
Post Body
Hi all,
I have a wedding coming up and am hoping to ask for a nice high-end grinder as a gift. Since I'm new to the world of making espresso, I was hoping to get some feedback on potential grinders I had in mind.
- Eureka Mignon Silenzio -- this grinder seems to be a good compromise between features I want, build quality, and price. I also like that it's quiet. As a newbie I'm concerned that the stepless adjust would be challenging to dial in (even though I understand the basic premise of doing so), especially as I learn how to dial in espresso altogether. What are your thoughts? Is there a consensus on a "standard" adjustment for this machine, like "6 1/4 turns clockwise?"
- Baratza Sette 270Wi -- I like the features and the specificity of weight/grind, even though it's a bit more expensive. However, not a fan of how loud it may be and don't love how it looks.
- Rocket Espresso Faustino -- I feel a little ridiculous asking for such an expensive grinder so not sure about this option, but I like the added feature of the touchscreen. Again, a little concerned about the stepless adjust.
What are your thoughts? Are there other grinders you think I should look at? Happy to consider anything! Thanks a ton.
