Surprisingly I couldn’t find this question so I hope someone can help.
My local barista told me it was okay and they use it on their machine, but I couldn’t find any info on the web.
I want to clean my steam wand because I think my steam has become less powerful. Though I’m not completely sure. But it has become harder to create a vortex in the milk and introduce air the way I used to do it.
It happened one morning. I suspect one of my family members didn’t purge it after and left some nasty residue in the steam wand that prevents a high pressure from releasing quickly enough. Though I’m by no means an expert on this matter.
