Why not use single dosing?
Post Body

I have a eureka silenzio grinder. My scale doesn’t like the weight of the portafilter plus coffee and is more inconsistent in weighing and my portafilter doesn’t fit on top of my small scale. It just makes it akward to weight coffee and portafilter together.

Then I tried singledosing which seemed like it created pretty similar results in weight before and after I grind.

So my question is, many people seem to not like singledosing (as far as I can tell) but: Does it do anything bad to my grinder? Or do I have to be aware of something before I switch over? And why do people use special funnels?
