If you are on a tight budget and still wanna get a quality, modern, well-built, reliable grinder for espresso

You 👏 can👏 get 👏 the 👏 eureka 👏 crono 👏

it’s nearly identical to other eureka models, many same internal components, metal / quality shell and modern design.?all with the exception of its use of ‘filtro pro burrs’ created to be “perfect for filter coffee”… and that it’s like half the price of the next eureka model.

I first heard about folks in this sub/online modding it with compatible fancier burr sets. That was my plan when I bought it, only to discover that the burrs (yes even the newer filtro-specific ones) totally grind fine enough for espresso! You’re living closer to the finer end of your grind options, but still! The grind is very consistent, smooth, uses the same stepless knob for micro shifts needed to properly dial in, it’s like, perfect.

I’m super happy with it, was super happy I didn’t have to mod (I will when I need to update the burrs) or sacrifice grind quality or machine quality or long-term serviceability just because my wallet is wimpy, you know?? I am shocked I am this pleased with it.

Are there better machines out there? Hell yea. But the crono blows others at this price point out of the water (plastic, inconsistent, static-prone).

And just to risk sounding more like an infomercial, I also just looked it up to share the price and it’s on sale here for pretty much the same as a baratza Encore, lol:

I was a barista for 10 years at v competitive cafes (hence the slowly creeping out of brokeness) but it also means I know how to meticulously dial in a shot, and the crono passes the test.
