Power ESP-12E NodeMCU dev board directly from lipo?
Post Body

I think this is kind of a dumb question, but I haven't been able to find a sure answer and don't want to fry my board. Is it okay to have a lipo connected right to one of the 3.3v pins on the board and power it that way?

I'm hoping to put it inside of this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00NBX8DNO/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with a BME280 to get me outdoor temp/humidity/pressure and am hoping to modify it as little as possible (and not introduce the efficiency loss of a step up converter).

Thanks a lot for any help anyone can provide. I bought my first board last week wanting to find a cheap way to monitor the temperature in the baby's room and now I have... more than the wife would like.
