So, warning ahead, I am not sure how much am I going to update this post, so don't expect even a monthly thing LOL.
So for school they demanded me a project. Long story short, I made a kind of a shooting range cabinet with a laser gun. Fancy, cool (foor a school project, the other people had... Very basic, uncreative ideas) and used a esp32 for it, for the first time.
Thing is, I am going back to study (I took a 2 year program, and now I want to make an extra year for the degree) and I want something really cool, something I can be proud of, for real. I have 3 months off (I am taking a semester as break, while I "only work full time"), and then the time it takes me to get to the project subject. Easily a year. So I wanted a head start now that I am motivated and less busy.
Project criteria is the following: 4 inputs 4 outputs Internet connection of some kind 3D printed parts
I went to the showroom with the people with that subject, and everything looked cool but... Generic. Industrial. A plastic wrapper, a CNC...
I know my idea is to bring a videogame "character" to life, and likely there are tons on the Internet, but still, I think it feels quite more fresh and personal.
So far, I have been thinking about a 12 buttons control (0-9 A and B) to select the mode of the sentry. The main one would be "sentry", where it activates a PIR on the eye. Detecting movement will make it "open the arms", activate 2 lasers (one per arm) and "shoot" (4 yellow LEDs blinking as the fire, while making a shooting sound with the speakers). Actually shooting some pellets would be really fun, but I don't know how and sounds too much complicated).
With this alone, I have IoT (I can make the sentry work with internet buttons, or maybe just as a turn On/Off system), 2 inputs (buttons, PIR), 4 outputs (laser, LED and speaker and the ejecting pistons), and the printed parts. I was considering a tilt sensor as a reference to the games, as you beat them with just making them fall (it would be something like if tilted, the speaker says a line, kind of a complaint, ask for mercy, or straight up sound pissed off hahaha). While I do not know what else to add, I know something will come to mind.
So, what do you think?
