Feeling terrible about herself after a string of bad dates, Jennifer goes to clear her head in the woods of Oregon. She encounters someone who is attracted to her - a werewolf.
Chapter 3
Jennifer stepped out of the cabin, the crisp air of the forest wrapping around her like a familiar cloak. She took a deep breath, the scent of pine and earth filling her lungs, momentarily grounding her. The sun was setting, casting long shadows through the trees, and she felt a twinge of anticipation mixed with unease.
In town, the grocery store was bustling with activity.
People moved about, some in pairs, others alone, but all seemingly with purpose. Jennifer navigated the aisles, her cart slowly filling with essentials—bread, milk, eggs, and other items that would sustain her for the week.
As she reached for a bag of apples, a hand brushed against hers, causing her to startle slightly.
"Let me get that for you," a voice said, warm and inviting. Jennifer turned to see a man, perhaps a few years older than her, with kind eyes and a friendly smile. He was tall, well-built, and had an easy charm about him.
"Oh, thank you," Jennifer replied, her cheeks warming under his gaze. They chatted as he helped her load her groceries into the car, the conversation flowing naturally. When they were done, he extended his hand.
"I'm Mark," he introduced himself, his grip firm yet gentle. "It's been a pleasure meeting you -?"
"Jennifer, the pleasure's mine," she responded, feeling a flutter in her stomach. "Are you new around here?"
"Just visiting," Mark admitted. "But I'd love to make the most of my time here. How about you join me for a drink at the local bar tonight? It's just down the road."
Jennifer hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Sure, why not? I could use a night out."
They agreed on a time and parted ways, Jennifer returning to her cabin with a mix of excitement and nerves. She had been asked out! And by a man who seemed nice and good looking.
As she prepared for the evening, she wore the only dress she had brought—a black, form-fitting number that hugged her curves provocatively. She hadn't worn the dress in years, and now looking at herself in the mirror, maybe it was a bit too...sexy...for just going to a bar with a stranger?
Jennifer glanced at herself in the mirror, smoothing down the fabric over her hips.
"You look great," she whispered to her reflection, trying to boost her confidence. "Just have fun, Jennifer."
She left the cabin, locking the door behind her. Turning back to check the door one more time, she felt a presence behind her.
It was the werewolf.
Before she could react, the werewolf pressed against her, his body hard and demanding against her back. His breath was hot against her neck as he growled low in his throat.
She couldn't move, as she was pushed against him and the door, his arms trapping her sides.
"Do you even see yourself? Your dress is lewd, the way it's hugging your body," he accused, his voice thick with desire and anger. Jennifer shivered, her body responding to his nearness despite her fear.
"I'm going on a date with someone in town," she managed to say, her voice trembling. The werewolf's hand slid down her stomach, then lower, brushing against the fabric of her dress.
"Ditch him," he demanded, his fingers lifting her dress, then teasing the edge of her thong. Jennifer bit her lip, torn between her growing arousal and her plans for the evening...
