[META] Has reddit changed their character-limits?

Post Body

I've been away from the site for a little while, and unfortunately away from writing as well, but finally got back at it again the other day.

Now I'm no stranger to hitting reddit post limits when I write my stories, I like my detail and all, so I would normally use a little work-around I found. I make the story post so that it's on a sub, with the title, tags and all that, then I just post my little synopsis and intro in the body of the text, no story yet. Then once it's posted, I would go and edit the post and paste in the actual story, and that seemed to work pretty much all the time.

This last time though, I'm not sure why, I was still hitting error messages if I put too much in even into the edits. I had to post two sections of the story in the comments, which was fine but I feel like it kind of fucks with the flow a little bit. Especially since on subs, I can't pin my comment with the story to the top.

I've seen some people just break up their chapters into different posts (been seeing alot of "chapter 11a" and "11b" sorts of posts recently) but I feel like that also has some drawbacks for readers.

So am I just stupid? Or did reddit make some changes to their posting limits? And if so, how are other writers working around that, because I'd love to find a cleaner solution to this whole thing.
