Hey guys! So I promised myself I would limit myself to 5k-8K word shorts when I started Kindle publishing, but THAT goal went out the window. Just finished proofreading my first 18K word novella and I'm wondering what the most marketable way to present it is:
Do readers tend to prefer novella-length fiction, or do they prefer serialized shorts? And if I serialize, is it better to bundle the three shorts, or publish a "Complete Edition" where it's all in together in one separate e-book later?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Unanimously, novella length is the winner. I only got into this after the KU2.0 changes, so I really appeciate the advice since all the how-to's were written for KU1.0. In the end, I wrote it as a stand alone piece, and that's probably the most honest way to present it anyways.
Unless I hear a persuasive case to serialize, I think stand alone is the direction I'm going in!
