I know many people say not to spend too much time editing erotica, but I have to disagree. I’ve read a lot myself, I know errors are especially common in this genre, but my errors would be off the hook if I didn’t spend a good amount of time editing my shorts. I think my biggest problem is I think faster than I can type. I’ll mix words up as I write them or straight up skip some words, and might not catch it until rereading what I wrote 2-3 times. Once isn’t enough.
My Reddit comments make me look like an idiot because I don’t edit those and make errors like that all the time lol. Hell, I probably made one somewhere in this post. Are you also spending more time than normal editing?
I'm an editor with ADHD who also writes smut. I love editing but writing is the hard part.
