Change in mixing style?

Listening to the recording of HOLO in nyc this past weekend it seems like the transitions and mixes in and out are a lot faster than I remember from Eric. Does anyone know if this is maybe just a holo thing? I feel like it doesn’t blend or sound as good but I could see him switching to this style since a lot of electronic music is moving to shorter formats.
