I'm looking at the Likebook Mars and the Boox Nova 2. Was previously gonna get a Nova Pro but I slept on it when it was on sale for $240
I read novels, some technical books, maybe the occasional PDF. I enjoy Manga, and don't mind the 8" format for that but I have a dedicated tablet if the eReaders aren't good for it.
I currently have a Kindle Paperwhite but am dissatisfied with the screen size and the lack of statistic tracking (books read, reading speed in words or pages per minute, and other stuff like that).
The Mars seems to run around $200 or a bit more, whereas the Nova 2 is like $340. I know the Nova 2 has a bit more app optimization and Android 9, but is that really enough benefit to justify a $130-$140 price difference? That's basically the cost of another reader or a budget tablet. I feel like I can't really rationalize that big of a price difference when I'm just gonna read on it and either should be fine for that.
Any thoughts on these two devices, and any other 8 or 9 inch tablets in the range of $150 - $250?
Thanks.
