I’m an MPH epidemiology/ biostatistics student in Boston and I started my program a few weeks ago (feels like years ago however!), and I love it. I come to class motivated and excited to learn about stuff that will have a direct impact on my career and being with other students who want to change things. But I’ve began to feel useless, like it doesn’t matter what I study or if I understand case control or rate differences because this country has shown time and time again these years that the leadership will actively undermine its scientists and people will harass you for trying to keep them safe. Does any one else feel this way? In a sense it makes me want to push through but some days it gets to me, and no one really wants to talk about it.
