Hello!
I'm LordRollin and I'm one of the the new moderators appointed to help correct the course of r/Edpidemiology. While we have a few things in the works that we're not ready to mention, yet, I did want to reach out and communicate a few of the changes we've been working on that are now live.
Foremost, r/Epidemiology now has a rule list for helping define the expectations within this subreddit. If you have yet to notice, please take some time to review these rules in the side-bar, or, for fellow mobile users, in the "About" tab. We're especially eager to hear what feedback you have in regards to these rules; after all, you're all a part of this community, too!
Additionally, I am also pleased to announce that we have adopted a system for verifying a user's credentials, similar to what users of r/Science might be familiar with. A button taking you to all of the relevant details is in the sidebar, or again, for mobile users, in the "About" tab. Our hope is that by verifying a user's level of education and expertise we can better distinguish when content is being generated by amateurs or experts in an effort to help combat misinformation. Do note that we also award flair for students studying in relevant programs.
Hopefully these are positive changes for the community, but as always, we would like to hear what thoughts you all might have. Please use this thread to discuss the new rules and verification program, or to throw out any general questions, concerns, or suggestions you might have for us as we move r/Epidemiology towards reaching its full potential.
Cheers!
P.S. Post flairs are now live, too! Please submit any suggestions you have for additional flairs.
