If you had told me yesterday, that today, I would wake up and have nearly 1000 new users on this sub, I would have told you that the Coronavirus would be on the west coast, you crazy!

Whelp.

A great big welcome to all our new folks, emerging viruses can be a scary situation. I am thankful that you have put your trust in us and if we all keep our heads straight and ignore the noise, we'll be just fine. Stay tuned to your local discussions and trusted news sources :)

Now, on to some other things:

1) RULES ; We are going to enforce Rule 1 strictly. Seeing a small uptick of people who are only here to spread panic and fear. This is absolutely not allowed and we will issues bans as needed.

2) RUMORS ; I am considering allowing rumors to be posted, perhaps in a thread of its own or in the megathread, but making sure your comment is labeled 'RUMOR.' This is a dicey topic, as we are trying to keep the rumormill from spinning out of control. Perhaps having a place to condense it all will solve this issues. Please let me know what you think.

3) FLAIRS ; I am also considering expanding user flairs for people who have credentials in the medical field and experts in epidemiology. Looking for feedback as well.
