A few of you requested pics from the fun day I had yesterday. We got busy laughing and playing and I forgot to take pics of the caramel being made! I don't even have a pic of the medical grade caramel, approx 10 mg per piece, we made for those of us with a med card! I hope something is better than nothing.

As a recap, my son has maintained relationship with several of my deceased son's friends from high school. His best friend came over yesterday to make caramel at my house. He and my son go together every December and made caramel together so they had gifts to give their family & friends. Another one of his friends was supposed to also be here but he wasn't able to make it.

It was just the most fabulous afternoon and evening. I've been making caramel since I was tall enough to stand in a chair and stir it next to my mom. I taught my kids and my sons really leaned into the whole ritual and became as good at making it as I am. Sweet huh? It was both tender and fun to chat with his friend while we stood side by side stirring our batch. I heard so many fun stories of the shit load of trouble the two of them got into in HS. I knew a lot of it but, damn, the kid was a good liar and a damn quiet sneak. I think he turned out to be as good as me at fooling his parents!

His friend got such a huge kick out of making medicinal, weed caramel with me too! We also got slightly lit on a little Jack Herer. This man had never had it! We both wishes both of my missing kids were with us. I hope in some way they are aware of my pro-weed ways.

The friend brought salmon and halibut that he caught in Alaska earlier in the year and my son did a fab job preparing it. I served salad and hubs prepared yummy grilled asperagus. We were all so stuffed. I forgot to take a pic of that too.
