I'm going to make tincture with everclear and AVB for the first time ... is flavoring with fruit it a thing?

I'm going to rinse my AVB to get the gross tasting gunk off, but I was thinking about some apricot moonshine that my grandma used to have (straight from from the hollers in Appalachian Virginia) and wondered if I could also throw some fruit in there since summer farmer's market has begun and we're getting in some nice, flavorful fruit? That way it doesn't just taste like weed and burning!
