Hey y’all, I recently went to lunch with my SO and his friend. His friend started talking about how retirement for his generation (Millennials) is screwed, and that he’ll only be able to retire by 65 or later even with a maxed out 401k. This got me thinking about retirement.
As we ENTJs are all about working, what do y’all think about retirement?
For me, I never once throughout my entire life thought much about it. Even when I opened my first Roth IRA, my thoughts were to maximize the earnings on my investments, not to save money for retirement. I’ve always viewed life in such a way that if you can find a job that you’re truly passionate about and enjoy doing, then retirement isn’t really something you should be worrying about. Luckily I’ve found that place for me, so when I encounter people like my SO’s friend who talk about retiring late like it’s such a disaster, it just makes me want to help them find a career which suits them better.
