Advice on Caffeine
Post Body

I'm not sure if this is widely known, but just in case this can help anyone, I'm going to post it here.

Caffeine is a legal stimulant that you can easily purchase in any form (coffee, tea, pill, chocolate, you name it). As such it is an invaluable resource for productivity.

There are so many people who take caffeine every day. This leads to caffeine dependency, as any drug would. Some people go so far as to end up with headaches and irritability if they miss their caffeine dose. Do not end up like these people!

If you treat caffeine as a drug, it can be immensely helpful for productivity, as it is a stimulant! The scientific literature tends to say that you can consume caffeine once every 2-3 days for its maximum stimulation effects. Thus, I personally consume it twice a week. Once on Tuesday, once on Friday. There are exceptions, such as when I need to stay up late, but because I restrict my intake to twice a week, the caffeine is always super effective at its job of keeping me energized.

Now, when I take caffeine, the stimulation allows me to easily complete tasks that I found menial and annoying to do before. It gives me creative energy to write and brainstorm. It gives me physical energy to exercise. It gives me social energy. And the greatest part is that there is no extreme tiredness or headaches on the days off, because I'm not caffeine dependent. You get the best of both worlds.

As the stereotypical high-productivity type, I think all ENTJs need to know this information. Use caffeine as a tool for your productivity!
