Hi everyone! Recently I’ve been seeing a lot of struggling posts, so I thought I’d share some positivity.
Recently I entered a Japanese speech contest. It was held for the upcoming G7 summit meeting in Hiroshima. It was my first time giving a speech in Japanese, so I wasn’t sure how well I’d do. Additionally, I only knew about it a mere week before the deadline.
Well, I quickly wrote up my first ever speech in Japanese and submitted it. It was selected as a finalist and these past few days I practiced it a lot, went to the final today, and won second place!
I was doubting myself and my abilities from the beginning, but really the effort that I put in paid off. I believe that this is the best thing about being an ENTJ. First place was a Korean who had been speaking Japanese since elementary school. I’ve only been seriously studying Japanese for 5 or so years now, and I got second. Whereas the Korean’s circumstances gave him the proper tools to win, I won by pure effort.
We really can do whatever we set our minds to! It’s the ENTJ super power. Today was a nice reminder of that. :)
