Recently I've been trying to deal with my very ENTJ tendency of smushing my emotions down instead of embracing and accepting them. I've discovered that melodic EDM really connects me to those emotions and lets me feel them easier.
Recently I went to a Porter Robinson concert and I just started crying. Everyone was singing along to the music together, and the emotions just bubbled up out of nowhere. It was so therapeutic. Porter's music and lyrics are so magical; if you haven't heard of him I would really recommend him. He's very down to Earth and tries really hard to connect with his audience. His songs capture emotions so well in a way that I haven't been able to find in any other artist.
For example, this song is about how despite the pressure from everyone (and from yourself) to do better, you can just look at the sky and marvel about how you're alive, you're doing good. As a child aspiring to be an Astrophysicist, I looked to the sky often as a source of motivation, inspiration, and unconditional support. Now, because of this song, the sky also becomes a reminder that I am alive, well, and doing my best.
