Building a spawn such that it faces the point usually saves the team a few precious seconds.
Healing a downed friendly with one of your medkits gives you 15 points.
Place random sandbag walls to make the enemy think there are rallies behind and waste resources (attention, firepower) on them. Could save an ally, every effort counts if you care about the win!
If you give assault weapons, nades and mines to your tankers, you can turn a light tank (puma, m8 scott) into an APC (armored personnel carrier.) Great for rushing to a point and capping before the enemy can set up defenses.
If you're on the allied side of Normandy campaign, the best play imho is to buy a ton of smoke grenades and grenade pouches. It matters not how low level you are, smoke counters everything the Axis can throw your way (mg42s, panthers and attack bombers). If they can't see you they can't aim/shoot at you.
You can create a big, bright yellow marker for yourself and the team to see (allies see it as light blue). Super useful in many scenarios. Want the team to place a spawn somewhere specific? Place a marker, make your desire known in chat. Want to lob mortars but the team ain't giving enemy coordinates? Place a marker where you'd like rounds to fall, you'll automatically see how far it is. Just open your map (hold M) open interactive mode (hold Left Alt) then right-click where you'd like the marker.
If you have leadership skills, don't be afraid to give people useful information in chat. "Ping windows where you'd like my MG34 to suppress enemies" or "Would be great to have a spawn on the marked house/trench" or "Need a base of fire down the street I marked" In my experience, great leadership can pull a noob team to victory. :D
If you have a low level weapon (e.g., bolt action, flamethrower) running and gunning can be a recipe for frustration. Instead, tell yourself something like "my goal is to survive to the point and survive inside the point." Your tactics will change accordingly, and you'll become an asset to the team. Remember, if the enemy cannot see you, they cannot shoot at you, no matter their how OP their weaponry. Use camouflage, use cover, crawl when needed, use freelook (hold c to look around), communicate with allies (pings, markers, chat). If you see the enemy before they see you, they're dead no matter your level.
What are some secrets you've discovered?
