I have just recieved my Cbse 12th results yesterday. I scored 85% in total and scored 94 in english. I want to persue BA english honours I have always had a love for poetry, literature, short stories, etc.
The problem arises here------->
My mother is asking me to opt for another subject as a career option cause according to her career in English is time consuming (which is true) and has no value I already surfed the internet and searched for other subjects but NO! I had no interest in them. My mother is constantly comparing my young sibling to me and asking him/her (i prefer not to say their gender) indirectly not to be like me. This is breaking my heart into million pieces. I have been in a similar situation after receiving my 10th results. My parents constantly pressurized me to opt for science stream but i knew i couldn't and i was really, like really bad at maths and physics and also had no interest in other subjects either. Their pressure atlast ended up at the psychiatrist chamber. I was depressed, hopeless, developed Panic disorder and was $ui¢*dal.
My mother still expresses her disappointment with me and my life choices.
I am literally in a state of dark confusion 😞 I need help. I want to know what to expect and not expect from the career options in english. And also i wanna know what are the variety of career options in English. Help me🙏🏼
Edit:- Im talking about the opportunities present in India 🔴🔴🔴🔴

yeah didn’t intend to major in english & a few years later applied for a technical writing certificate. seems like it’s versatile—can specialize in a variety of fields (software, aerospace, medical, etc). given your preferences, keep in mind it isn’t creative writing tho
