“Former” ENFP, now ENFJ after ADHD treatment?

Post Body

I’m curious what y’all’s thoughts are- for 4 years I tested ENFP consistently in college prior to my ADHD diagnosis and treatment. I also had anxiety (mostly due to procrastination, self sabotage, etc) and a lot of unresolved childhood trauma.

I hadn’t taken the MBTI in 2 years. Last month I started taking various free online tests and consistently got ENFJ. Tbh digging deeper into the cognitive stack ENFJ makes a lot of sense to me.

I’ve been self working lot on my people pleasing tendencies, anxious-preoccupied attachment style, and communication skills. Turns out I really enjoy taking on a more action oriented leadership role.

I think beforehand, not only untreated ADHD, but growing up without the tools and support system to achieve my visions and goals stunted me. I was also very depressed in my teen years and had unhealthy enabling toxic friendships. After separating from those relationships and finding my passions I become so much more self directed and ambitious. Went on to study social science and now working towards a career in social work.

I was always a “bossy girl” as early as 5 years old and naturally led peers throughout school. I know for a fact I repressed a lot of my characteristics because of various social pressures and my upbringing.

I feel like I’m better equipped to take action and not just day dream. I have a bigger social support system now and feel so good when people recognize that I’m a good listener and can give good advice when warranted.

I don’t know if I’m actually an ENFJ or I’m just getting better at my inferior functions as an ENFP lol
