New to the community here, but I'm curious, has anyone else found their way to energy work after experience with certain branches of Christianity and realized that in some ways it's all the same thing?
Background: I spent my high school years at one of those "fired up" non-denominational New Apostolic Reformation churches. It was good while it lasted, but Christians left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth after a while (this isn't an attempt at bashing the religion, I promise). Well, after I left, I went through a phase of devout atheism, then devout agnosticism. During this era I discovered many things that could be considered "spiritual, but not religious" (tantra, psychedelics, plant medicines, yoga etc ...).
Eventually, I found myself right back in the same sort of mental spaces I'd been in in high school but without all the "religous-ness" of it all.
Has this been anyone else's experience? Is this like a known thing and I'm just late to get the news?
For those that can relate, do you ever find yourself falling back into those old headspaces even though there are aspects of them that don't serve you anymore?
