I've just recently graduated college and I've been applying for jobs. Most, if not all, are federal/government (in Parks) so there was a section which asked if I had any disabilities. I listed Endometriosis in the Other category. My condition isn't so bad that I can apply for ADA assistance, I just need a week off or a lesser workload now and again when it flares up unpredictably.
So, I want to know if there's something I can do when hired to protect myself from getting fired or creating a hostile work environment. Should I give my supervisor a note from my doctor explaining my condition and needs? What have you guys done?
Thanks!
Even with doctor's paperwork to back it up?
It does say FMLA is usable for a severe medical condition that prevents you from preforming your job. Do you know what kind of paperwork is required for FMLA or ADA?

Thanks for the comment. I'm not sure if it counts as a disability or not since it only intermittently affects my daily life, but when it does it certainly affects my ability to do all those daily tasks.
