Hi
I’m based in the UK (F23) and I’m considering paying for a private laparoscopy to diagnose possible endometriosis. I’ve seen doctors and gynaecologists about this over the past 6 months and done my own research and most of my symptoms match up with endo. The waiting list in my area is currently 2 years on the NHS and I’ve been in so much pain recently that I think I’m going to pay for it even though it’s a lot of money.
I’m worried that I’m making the wrong decision as I’m scared of them doing the surgery and not finding anything. My parents said they’ll help me out with the money and my partner is encouraging me to do it but I’m worried that they’ll think I’m being dramatic or making it up if the test doesn’t find endo. I’m second guessing myself now because my pain hasn’t been taken seriously for so long that now I’m questioning if it even is serious. I’m so used to there not being any answers about why I’m in pain, what if the same thing happens again?
