z offset memory fade?

ok so i need help again, before i take a blow torch to this damn thing...

I have completely cleaned the hot end, made sure filament is flowing fine and done estep calibration again.

now i am having an issue where it seems to have a brain fade when it comes to printing.

I have gone through and reset the z offset, currently at -2.1 with a decent amount of tension on some paper but when i tell it to print it seems to somehow forget that and prints too far from the bed leaving me with a big mess and lots of wasted filament.

Im struggling to figure out wtf im doing wrong here.

is it hardware issue or slicer issue.. neither make sense becaue i havent changed anything that should affect this issue.

i would really appreciate any help someone could give, i just really want to get back up to 2 printers running again so i can finish my projects
