Anyone made the jump to manual leveling?

I understand the BLTouch is a very useful and popular tool, and I enjoy having mine quite a bit, but I do feel as though I can get a more precise bed leveling manually. If anyone has experience with this, or wants to share reasons why this is incredibly stupid, I'd love to hear from you! Methods of doing so are also very welcome.
